Every component earns its place. When an excellent solution already exists, we select it. When we see room for improvement, we develop our own. That's how MADGOAT BALANCE began.
Weight, bike, terrain, tyres and priorities. A recommendation starts with how you ride, not a catalogue.
We select proven components when they fit the brief. We develop our own only when we can deliver a real functional improvement.
One person builds the wheelset, applies the Precision Pack included as standard and records the build in the Quality Passport.
The difference goes beyond a decal. It's about the rim, hub, spokes, tensions and tyre pressure working as one system.
Two rims can look alike and ride very differently. Our rims are made to ZAMBRA specifications for each build and use. Geometry, layup, composition, tolerances and usage limits all form part of that brief: we focus on how the complete wheel behaves, beyond weight or depth alone.
MADGOAT BALANCE takes that work further with our own engineering design and geometry developed by ZAMBRA.
We specify the rim's geometry, width, depth and configuration around the behaviour we want from the complete wheel. Weight matters, alongside acceleration, cornering support and control over the terrain.
Your discipline, weight, tyres and terrain guide the build. We seek the right balance of low weight, stiffness and strength for the demands of your rides and races.
The rims are made to ZAMBRA specifications for each build and use. MADGOAT BALANCE also features our own geometry, developed to balance the work done by the spokes.
Before building, we check how the rim, spokes and nipples fit together. We take care of alignment and tension adjustment so the components work together and the wheel behaves consistently.
We check that the model received matches the current specification, inspect its condition and check the dimensions covered by the approved internal protocol. During the build, we then measure the assembly spoke by spoke.
The measurement that counts is the one recorded. The Quality Passport links the order, components and final measurements without turning tolerances awaiting approval into commercial promises.
Our own geometry. A more balanced wheel.
Developed by ZAMBRA to balance spoke tensions and deliver a lively response under power with composure on technical terrain.
The cassette, rotor and hub flanges give each side different starting angles. BALANCE offsets the channel to bring them closer and distribute tension and loads more evenly. Design aim: a distribution very close to 50/50. The actual ratio is measured on every build.

MADGOAT Balance offsets the channel to bring the bracing angles on both sides closer. Design aim: a distribution very close to 50/50.
Spoke tension balance also depends on the hub geometry.
This comparison remains withdrawn from public communication until every figure, tolerance and result is supported by approved evidence.
How to read the chart. Both diagrams show the same hub. Only the position of the rim channel changes. This illustration explains how that position affects spoke angles; it is not a universal measurement.
What BALANCE aims to do. Bring the drive side and disc side closer in their structural behaviour through the rim's geometry. Actual results depend on the hub, spokes and lacing pattern. The Extreme version applies the same idea to a reinforced construction for enduro and e-bikes.
A great wheel needs a great build.
The Precision Pack is the process that makes the difference.
More uniform rotation. A wheel fine-tuned to the last detail.
Prepared using the actual components of your build.
We balance every wheel accounting for the actual weight of the valve and tubeless system, followed by a final dynamic check before delivery.
A 50% more airflow, less prone to clogging with tubeless sealant, and without the small pin that can bend or break when connecting a pump. These are our ZAMBRA valves with the Schwalbe Clik Valve system.
The pump head clicks into place and disconnects without releasing air from the tyre. Clik Valve adapter for your pump included, so you can use the system and check your pressure with a compatible gauge.

Want to keep using your Presta pump? No problem, although you won't be able to check the pressure correctly with this connection.
Is it worthwhile for your bike?
Five steps. No shortcuts, no automated builds. Every wheel passes through our hands before it leaves the workshop.
The Quality Passport is your wheels' digital record. It contains the final configuration, fitted components, actual wheelset weight and build checks for the front and rear wheels. It stays linked to your order so you can consult it whenever you need.
Your wheels include access to a tyre pressure calculator tailored to your build. It gives you a starting point to adjust for your tyres, weight and terrain.

We don't start with a catalogue. We start by understanding how you ride, what you need and what you want to improve. We then recommend a build and explain why. And if changing wheels isn't worthwhile for you, we'll tell you that too.
Behind ZAMBRA is a specialist team and a build process supported by advanced digital measurement and inspection equipment. Each wheel is built, set up and checked individually for a precise, consistent result ready for demanding use.
